Soot on boiler from yellow 2-ring burner flame

Postby baldoss » Tue May 14, 2013 7:43 am

Hi all

Finally got my new rig fired up for the first time to do cleaning runs and a sacrificial run last weekend, got 2x 25L TPWs ready to go for this weekend. Tw base of my 50L SS leg boiler, plus probably 1/4 to 1/3 of the way up the sides are coated in soot from the yellow burner flames. Is this a problem and if so, how do i prevent it from sooting? I don't really care if it looks shit, just want to be sure its not going to cause any issues.

Cheers

Your burner needs tuning the flame should be blue with just yellow tips

So by tuning you just mean fiddling with the valves on the burner itself until ive got it open/shut so that it's in the sweet spot? I don't need to go upgrade the regulator or anything? Thanks for the help

there should be a little wheel right near the valve mate, just wind it out until your flame is blue :handgestures-thumbupleft:
