Placing it right at the end would not assist on the vapour touching the walls where the coolant is flowing though? The coolant starts 4 or 5 inches up the condenser.

Vapours Escaping Pot Still

My 2inch pot does the same and the condenser is cold to touch all the way to the top. Dunno what it is but it don't bother me (it used to). It's only if I look really hard for it anyway. I've got better things to do then sit there with a torch looking for the tiniest bit of vapour lol.

The tiniest bit of vapour will still ignite. Once that has happened, your collection jars will too and you won't know until your skin is peeling off.

At least you'll know where the leak is I s'pose...

Lol my jars are kept on the other side of the shed mate. I worded it wrong i suppose.
If anyone sees vapour it is a problem. And appropriate actions need to taken to reduce the risk of a fire.
I however set my still and do other things in the shed.
While keeping a constant eye on it, I don't sit there staring at the end of the condenser hours on end looking for vapour.
