Postby dillsandwitch » Fri Jun 07, 2013 10:06 am

Howdy Guys. Long time no visit. Well my move is complete. Finally (-| So now i need to find where my new local HBS is. Im living in maitland now and all i can find with a google search is shops in newcastle and i really dont wanna drive that far. So does anyone know of any HBS in or around maitland?

Thanks in advance

Good for emergencies , he has a large selection of essence and "chips" and yeasts (turbo's,distillers, champange and beer etc), demijohns 5-20L, he mainly does beer so has 1kg bags of specialty grain and has some hard to get spices... Digga is a nice bloke , he is a little short on info for distillers (but thats what here is for :handgestures-thumbupleft: )

HBS in or around maitland

For beer marks home brew is the best. He doesn't stock much stillin stuff coz people steal it.
I personally find esbrewing.com good value for liqueur stuff. And I get my grains from marks. Except for corn feed I get from the stock feed joint at west Wallsend. There's another joint at kurri which I drive past after work. Gunna call in there next week and see what they got. Need some molasses. There's a dude at Charlestown who stocks a bit of gear but doesn't really know his stuff. As for the maitland dude. I know a few who go there and reckon its ok but I've never been as I live Wallsend area.
Oh and apparently a new place has opened in islington somewhere. But I got a feeling it's marks home brew as he told me he was looking at moving.

Welcome to the area mate!! Where abouts did you make the move from? I have also been told Country Brewer is a good shop, and yeah Kingy there is a new one in Islington, right at the end of Beaumont street on Maitland rd, He is the only guy I have dealt with and is a top bloke, only been open.around 2 weeks but quickly getting more popular. He always greets me with a big smile and a beer/shot of his spirits, he seems to know his spirits too. Not actually anything to do with Marks home brew as he is closing shortly (from that location anyway) ;-)

HBS in or around maitland

Long time no see - surely a little online shopping is going to be cheaper and easier. I agree they ESB brewing are cheap, I recommend Craft Brewer too. Really good range and fast postage. Tru-Brew will also deliver to you.

Save a bit of time for stilling and do your shopping online maybe?
