To insulate or not to insulate???

Postby finners » Wed Jul 03, 2013 8:24 pm

Waiting on delivery of my 4" Copper Boka and are wondering wether insulating the column is advantagious to keep temps stable?

It'll be mounted via 4" to 2" adapter to a 50L keg fired up via a Mongolian natural gas burner.

Was just going to run some 10 mm camping mat, then duct tape, then aluminium tape.

Any thoughts?

I have run Bokas un insulated and insulated and the differance is un insulated you have temps fluctuations where as a insulated Boka runs like a automatic. I always insulate my Bokas... :handgestures-thumbupleft:

just a thought , when running a plated still as a hybid using a packed section do you think it would be advantageous to insulate the packed section or to short to make much difference (sorry for the highjack)
