De-tuned copper reflux vs pot still for stripping?

Hi,

Have come across a cheap pure distilling copper reflux. I've already got one of these but need a pot still. Was thinking (given the price), to just pull the wool out of it and declare it my pot still.

Pros and cons from those with more experience?
