Racking a wash into still.

Hi guys I have 2 washes to distill over the next couple of days, one rum and one BWKO. My question is that having only done TPWs before where you can clearly see the bottom and the yeast bed when racking off how do you guys do it when racking a darker coloured wash so as not to pick up the yeast and grains. My plan was to just syphon it with a clear hose with a piece of copper tube attached as a racking cane.

for BWKO all the grain should be settled in the bottom. I just syphon it out, into a stocking covered funnel. just for the few suspended grains that are about. usually only pick up 10-20 bit of corn.
racking cane should work. some members use a shower head

I put a sieve on the grain bed and put the end of the syphon in that. It works a treat.

Pinched the (awesome) idea from someone on one of these forums but I can't remember who.
Put your hand up to receive the credit whoever it was!
