Voltage Regulator

Can anyone tell me where I can purchase a voltage regulator for a T500 Still 1800w that is complete and good to go, I have checked ebay, Dick smith, jaycar..

There really is no ready made units you can buy off the shelf mate, most of the guys either build there own or get one built for them. :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Yeah thought that may be the case my sparky mate is away for 4 weeks..

so if I decide to purchase 0-260VAC Variable Laboratory Autotransfomer (Variac) - 500VA this will be able to do what I need it to do for a 1800w Still, sorry really got no idea about this stuff..just want to be sure before I spend the $$ I would rather purchase this than dodgy something up from scratch..

oops sorry :oops: the 500va is only a 500 watt version, the larger ones (2000-2500va) don't appear to be available

Ha ha yeah he just rang me back he thought I said 5000VA..nope not big enough I wonder if the brew shops would sell em surely Im not the first person whos looked for one

You don't need to spend hundreds of dollars, if you have a sparky mate he could knock up a SSR type controller for under $30 .

Got my regulator from ebay $8:90 with postage ha ha and found some bits in the electrical dept at work - got my sparky mate to wire up and she works a treat, it took about a minute to find the sweet spot for the spirit run...Thanks again to all who showed me the error of my ways :happy-partydance:

Rehashing this old thread. Does anyone have a link for a plug and go unit? Everything I’ve found requires an electrician.

Ebay search voltage regulater make sure it is at least 2400w and is for 220v-240v 10a use a travel adapter if you have to. :handgestures-thumbupleft:

That one looks like its plug and play? Ask them if they have a 240V hard wired plug on it.

They do. They are also tagged.
I bought one with a view to adding them to the 5 Star store but....
I’ve only used it once and it got bloody hot, I meen really hot and at 100% I still wasnt getting full power to the element.
I won’t be using it again
