Stopping and starting a run

So my mate and I ran a CFW couple of weeks ago, we collected fores and then something came up so we had to shut down the still.

We left the wash in the boiler and then a couple of days later he ran it again himself. He collected some more fores, I think about 400ml from a 40 litre wash as we don't use early heads anyway.

He then made an apple g dropper with it. He said he ate some of that soaked apples and tasted some of the spirit and since he's been getting really crook.

I assured him it's probably coincidence and he's probably just sick but he's worried it's from the run, and maybe leaving it made it go bad. I did cuts with him and I've been fine but I haven't drank any of the end product.

Is there any risk in letting the wash sit after boiling then running again a couple of days later? Or is there any issue in soaking apple slices?

Pure coincidence, I've shut down for various reasons many times with no issues.

I had a CFW wash up to temp 5 times before I actually run it a while ago... Definitely not an issue.

There's even theories of it creating favourable esters!

Has this ever been tested? I'm guessing you haven't...?

Sounds interesting but also like a waste of energy and time... still, interesting!
