i know most of you use ss valves, but is brass needle valves a problem with lead content or are they safe? every way i turn I'm plagued with things with F-- lead in them. the more i read the more worried i get.
tried to buy 1\4 inch ss valve here but like asking for a rise in the pension.

Hi bundy,

My opinion is that being such a small area in the valve is not going to cause you any concern, that and the fact it's not coming into contact with hot alcohol vapor, it's contact with alcohol is minimal and the alcohol is condensed and cooled somewhat.

That's my opinion only and I know others on HD will disagree with me strongly, but you need to ask yourself what you're comfortable with.

Take a look at the flute designs, discussions and pics and you'll see more of the advanced stillers are using brass in these builds for sight glasses, however none of the safety police have said boo about it ;)

I've got a SS 1/4 inch needle valve here, but that would be a $80 deduction to your pension

Cheers.
