Mouldy fermenter

Postby Pugdog1 » Sun Aug 09, 2015 12:03 pm

Hey guys been a while since I've posted here.

Went to put on a batch of tpw today and noticed my fermenter had some mold in it. Nothing serious but mould none the less. I was wondering how I should go about cleaning or treating this if I can.

thanks for the help

Fill it with water and add a cup of bleach (unscented) and let sit overnight then rinse thoroughly :handgestures-thumbupleft:

I usually just give it a good scrub with warm water, and some detergent! Then give it a good rinse and sit it in the sun/ infront of the heater! Then sanitise before re using! But thats just my method!

Have I stuffed up then? I had all my fermenters 2x30L and 1 x60l get a bit mouldy then all I did was
A good scrub with detergent and a rinse out with steriliser then put tpw back on straight away. They've been on for about a month now and have got to 990 without drama but I may have to leave them for another couple of months till I get back from work

As long as your washes are not getting infected then they are clean enough :handgestures-thumbupleft:
