new American oak barrel from corowa woodware

bought it on Ebay so if its getting toasted or charred it will be by me. Look like a big job to get the end / ends off

I repaired at 10L barrel without dramas.
Getting an end off is easy as. Got a hammer and screwdriver?

Researching how to make a half decent whiskey from neutral. Seeing if I can achieve it other than essences. Much as I enjoy my T500 after several brews am looking at all those other lovely stills.....

Nuetrel in a barrel wont give you a decent whisky mate, you need a grain base wash ran through a still that will carry over flavour ie a pot or a bubbler :handgestures-thumbupleft:

The one I have had been glued together I'm pretty sure. I can see some stuff between the staves that looks like glue.I think I'm just going to put it on the shelf for looks only. Appears I did my $$$ on this one. I'm looking for a high quality 5L barrel now. Roll out the barrel sounds like the best place. I will see if I can snap a pic through the bung hole
