Was the stain from the oak or what the dog did after the whack? :laughing-rolling:

@ Cam, I thought the exact same thing then I saw your post :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Do you really think a big fuck off dog with the tenacity of a staff is a good idea

I do :laughing-rolling: specially if they shows the same traits to certain people as Zak does :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Yep, just dropped it in as is. Previously I have been using Still Spirits light toasted oak cubes, so I was happy with the toasting on the oak I got off you.

Hey Steve
Thanks for the Oak, just got it this afternoon.
Will do a bit of research regarding toasting and then drop some in a jar or two and see what comes of it.
Thanks heaps - those staves smell delicious :D

Ive been having trouble with washes lately due to temps, but once i fix that problem im going to record over time with pics... clean/clean&charred/toasted/toasted&charred. At the moment i use american oak sticks toasted and charred. so it will be interesting how it goes... problem is what type of wash do i use for the experiment ... any idea's gentlemen

hmmm ,,, might do something similar. but do a sweet mash rather than use tin.... i have marks home brew here in newcastle... make AG that little bit easier. Though i just did pick up some wheat malt last week , still have corn and barley malt laying around ... how does a makers mark clone sound ?
