Actually it's not a bad price for a 10L job ;-)

Google "roll out the barrel" for price comparison.

Its pretty pricey for a 10L barrel .....there is a link around here some place for "Roll out the Barrel" I think you will find them a far cheaper option.

Edit : One of their 50L maturing barrels charred to your own specs would be better value for money in my opinion

The problem with barrels is that its almost as much work to build a small one as it is the build a bigger one, Thats why the smaller ones are worth what they are.

These will take about 8 years :laughing-rolling: so I'm told.but there is nothing stopping you "tasting" along the way :handgestures-thumbupleft: and nothing stopping you making some more and ageing on oak chips either

Every drop that I have saved to go into one of these is pure unadulterated hearts, very harsh on the cuts, although I reckon I could chuck in half the heads and tails from each run,and it would still turn out better than most of the store bought swill :handgestures-thumbupleft: :handgestures-thumbupleft:

I was looking for 20 litre oak barrels and it seems that most of the locals sell them for around $230 - 280

This crowd: http://www.barrelsonline.com/ShowProduct.aspx?ID=20 has them for US$90 and quoted US$140 to ship 2 to Oz

It seems like a good deal... almost half price and they have a medium char

Has anyone dealt with them before?

Mate contact the people at http://www.rolloutthebarrel.com.au/ local, very friendly and better prices - shit mate US 140? You'll get another two kegs for that price.

They email back within a day, and did I mention LOCAL? :handgestures-thumbupleft:
