I have been doing some google serching to see what oak tree's are used in the aging and flavoring of wine's and spirits. So far i have come up with.
Quercus alba
white oak
Quercus robur
Known as English oak or French oak
Quercus petraea
Known as sessile oak, Cornish oak or Durmast oak.
I am trying to fined out all the diffrent types of wood that is used for adding diffrent flavors and coulors to our booze. So if you know of a few diffrent types of wood that is being used and know the name of the tree please add its name to the list thanks for helpping. But befor you do add the name please fined out what the latine name is so we know what its real name is.
