Do they reveal the exact species of Oak? That would be the most important factor. IMHO

My bad!!!
I was thinking From Hungary. Just copied this...
Hungarian Oak Flavor Summary

The Hungarian oak at Medium toast displayed a high
perceived-vanillin content, with roasted coffee, bitter
-
sweet chocolate and black pepper characters.

Medium Plus and Heavy toast imparted mouthfeel full
-
ness, with only a slight amount of campfire/roasted
coffee. Heavy also had pronounced vanillin. At all toast
levels, there were unique attributes such as leather and
black pepper, not observed in other oak origins

Yeah I've heard Hungarian oak can have some rich, deep flavours. Just when Sam mentioned about freight, I thought maybe you can only them from Hungary direct?

My 15L Hungarian oak barrel arrive late last week from this bloke, ordered just in the new Year. From Hungary itself. Smells fantastic, medium char on the inside and a full set of instructions on preparing, aging spirits/wine etc. Got water in it at the moment, ready for my Rum Spirit rum and then aging at 65%.
Cost me $210, but I got in before he upped his prices, he said freight was going up!

FYI they do all sizes upto 500L with barrels up to 20L send via EMS (cheap) shipping :-)

I am organising with them for a few 20L barrels without taps for the new shop ;-)

The taps would be a major selling point for me, too many storage vessels have plastic or brass taps. I like the look of the all wood construction too :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Konzo, have you looked into Roll Out The Barrel?

I would think they would be perfectly suited to your operation. Can choose your oak and level of toasting or charring, all custom made and brand new.

25L for $350 + $45 delivery...and 50L was only $450 (can't remember if that was incl shipping).

Keep in mind that's its brand new, and made to your requirements. I'm not affiliated or anything, but that's where I'd be spending my cash if I was setting up a distillery :D
