Oak barrels near Perth

Hey Fellas,
Can anyone recommend a place near Perth I can source some oak barrels for ageing rum and bourbon? I was thinking of 10 litres or so.
Cheers

Maybe try winexstorage? Up in Ozzie park, price looks alright and you can see the barrels before you buy

When I inquired about shipping a 10L oak barrel from the states to here it worked out to about $150ish depending on currency exchange at the time. Shipping was more expensive than the barrel.

Locally on fleabay you can get them from between $170 (plain) to $199 (with scorched engraving on it) delivered. They all seem to be the same thing - american white oak, medium toast/char......

EDIT: winexstorage barrels are well priced, dont like the grape logo on it though!

Roll out the barrel arent the cheapest around, but at least you know you're getting a top notch quality product from them, I wont even bother shopping around around when I'm ready to grab my 50L & 20L barrels.

Thanks All,

I was thinking of Roll out the barrel - $350 plus freight for a 25L barrel. I know that is good quality but I'm going to have a hard time getting that past SWMBO. She is slowly coming around.

Can someone tell me if its okay to put up an ebay link in is section of the forum - so I have get some feedback???

Cheers

I'm no barrel expert, but that looks alright... Maybe ask them if you can get an unvarnished one?

It looks like there is some sort of plastic up in the fill port and where the tap fits

Hi, I know this is no where near Perth but check out Bundy Kegs. They are just around the corner from Bundy Rum. They have prices on the web site. I get my chips from them when I visit Bundy. They make the kegs on site and are quite a tourist attraction.

Hey Zeb,
ended up going with 2 10 litre barrels from eBay. They are okay, but the taps need replacing. Next time I'll go with roll out the barrel.
cheers

Yep,
Zeb - without being critical of the product. I think I should of bought 1 X 25 litre from ROTB then added a 2nd barrel when $ permits.
