5 litre single use kegs....

Postby Redux » Fri Oct 24, 2014 4:37 pm

has any looked inside one to see if it would be ok to use for aging?

once its empty its easy enough to strip off all the plastic beer stuff.....

might be a cheap hard to break alternative?

:text-+1: on the plastic situation. and i think part of the top/tap system is aluminium. imo it wouldn't be worth the time, effort, or money

These type of beer kegs have a gas cylinder inside and are made from ali so once the beer is gone they either make for a good football or target and that is about it

Those cheap shops like red dot sell stainless cooking pots real cheap, I've seen 20L pots with lids for $15 at our local red dot stores :handgestures-thumbupleft:

They actually have a plastic liner in them that can't be removed. Hence no good for spirits. Go with mac's kitchen pot idea.
