Give it a go :handgestures-thumbupleft: Ive had some on oak since November, the jury is still out. If yours goes cloudy when you dilute, leave it for a few weeks and it should clear up. I will have to do some sampling on the weekend, will post results soon

I am bitterly dissapointed how it turned out no where near enough ginger flavour or bite and low abv 55% after two runs through pot. Didnt bother with oak watered it down to 40% grated some ginger into it much better but wont bother with this again :handgestures-thumbdown:

I believe Starwood make a ginger beer whisky as one of their projects which is extremely popular. You now need to have purchased two bottles previously to even get a look in to buy one there days. So it must turn out pretty good with oak ageing.

do you reckon diluting some neutral down with a ginger beer kit would taste nice?

The kits are for 20L so around 8L 95% neutral, ginger beer kit and top up to 20L.
Obviously you would work out a smaller amount to start with.

Actually I wonder if you chucked a ginger beer kit can with some neutral in the boiler whether the flavour would come across better. Wouldnt be sweet though

There was no sweetness to mine i think maybe a ginger flavoured spirit might work. The recipe i used was real nice before fermentation maybe use that recipe then fortify or add to the spirit run. personally not going bother again ginger is not cheap and I cant afford to play around at $50 per batch

Stuff i made in beer form tastes more like beer with bite of ginger beer rather than a soft drink style ginger beer which i was hoping for...

The batch I oaked is interesting  I will leave this a bit longer and report back.
The unoaked has lost its flavour, now it only has a hint of ginger left :handgestures-thumbdown:

I am going to experiment some more when I have time, next experiment will be a ginger whisky I think.
