Teddys FFV and cordial

Hey I am running short of aged bourbon :angry-banghead: and had the in laws visiting so I got the stock of flavourings out( haven't had to use them for a few years) and made some up to give away and for me while I Am waiting for the Oaked stuff to do its job.
I have just finished my 120 litre run of Teddys (in that I had 22 litres of low wines), it took 16 hours to run nice and slow a bit below 2 litres an hour!
I ended up with fores 750 ml , heads 2.1 litres, hearts 12.7 litres and tails 5.1 litres al tested 48 hours later,

So with the hearts I blended up some willards scrub turkey in 2.4 litres @ 45% ABV to that I added 6 drops of distillers caramel,3 ml of mellow oak( profile kit essence) and I wasn't happy with it so i added 10 mls of SW premium bourbon essence which is another nice drop. Ended up fantastic and it tasted great so another win for Teddys FFV, worthy of a place in your arsenal :handgestures-thumbupleft:

750mL of foreshots seems a lot, were you being ultraconservative?

Some parts in the shed for something more "traditional", 2" MacBoka atop a 50L SS keg fitted with 2 x 2400W weldless elements (with guards).

Better safe than sorry I recon. No one wants to drink fores or heads for that matter. I take big fores cuts and also throw the first heads jar too but thats cause I don't want them stacking over time and I hate hangovers :handgestures-thumbupleft: :laughing-rolling:

I take 500ml of fores every strip run plus another 500ml of fores on a spirit run.

Yes, I have a reflux so on my spirit run I take 200ml to 300ml of foreshots (@94%) - now I am not sure if the O/P was pot or reflux :?

Obviously a pot would be more like 70%?

700ml isn't that much considering he pulled 20ltrs of spirit at what I would expect to be very close to 96%. If you were only doing a single run from a 20ltr wash then 200ml would be ample. It's all relative to the size of wash/low wines :handgestures-thumbupleft:

I do 45 litre strip runs and 45 litre spirit runs. I figure I an throwing away fores plus very early heads, both of which I don't want too drink.

Yep mine are around 30 litres so although all my heads go into the feints jar, I suppose the proportion is more or less the same.
