I'm thinking of trying to put a little citrus flavour into my wheat vodka on the spirit run. Would adding some peel from lemon carry over into the spirit? The vodka is Ace ( well, I'm happy with it ) slight grain aftertaste an a little dry. Wanted to rev it up a notch but dunno if it will work . Can anyone give me some advice ?? Cheers fellas

Try making a tincture with lemon zest then adding neutral to dilute the flavour toy your taste.

You would be better using lemon pulp in your wash for a flavour carry over.
There is a receipe in the tried n proven for a lemon vodka.

Using peel would only work if used in the vapour path but in saying that the peel would give you a bitter taste.

Thanks for the reply Mrs M..that makes more sense. In all honesty I was rushing out just before I posted that an shud of looked a bit better. I was going to run it tmw morn but will hang off till I've read a bit more.
Im a bit hyped about brewing something I can drink without having to have many months of aging...lol..cheers

I haven't used plain citrus but it carries over well with other botanicals through a gin basket. Could you place one near the top of your pot?
