Homemade pre-mix

I just posted a comment in the essences thread about a rum essence and it got me thinking about something.

I also brew all-grain beer and have a keg fridge with a range of my beers on tap. For BBQs and camping etc, I have a 9L keg and 500g gas bottle that I take away in an esky.

Previously I have made premix rum and coke in this 9L keg by just adding the right ratios to the keg and applying gas as usual - but only for parties where it has been consumed within 24 hours.

My question is, if I make up a full 9L of rum and coke mix, and make that a house regular (where it may sit for a long time), will the alcohol and soft drink separate? Will it need shaking up every now and then to mix or will it all just stay mixed up??

I would think it would stay mixed, you can leave a bottle of alcohol alone for a long time and the alcohol wont seperate from the water and seeming coke is mostly water it should act the same.

Yeah if you leave it too long and it settles to the bottom the first pour might be the last :laughing-rolling:

That's a good point. Kinda makes my question seem a bit stupid..
