Picked this up at Safeway (Woolworths) today. It's a 375mm Voss water bottle. Nice quality glass and only $3.00. Works a treat

bought an alchometer today and knocked this up.
holds about a 100ml.

measured my feints at 90% and some crap 40% peach brandy measured 41%.
might chuck it in the still next run.

I don't use mine like that as I have a parrot on my still
for me its used when diluting either low wines or spirit for aging

I used it last night to adjust some low wines before tonight's spirit run

fair enough, mines coming off hot and now I know .. at 96% plus so really only using it to check each jar which was pretty pointless but gives me something to do while watching the drip drip .. and then for diluting it.

finally got around to doing a bit more on my first parrot, the SS funnel is just temporary.. flow rate seems quite reasonable and should be sufficient for my 2 inch column pot still.
If not I will fit a 1/2 pipe as an overflow bypass.

I know Ive said it before, but KegKing sell the high quality Borosciliate (Pyrex) graduated cylinders for only $10. It's the perfect thing to use or hydrometer/alcometer, and they're dirt cheap :handgestures-thumbupleft:

250ml is a bit big for me, I usually collect in 10 or so jars and with a <20l wash often have only around 120-200ml per jar, my inch copper tube needs about 115ml to float me meter. also a pain though as you need to brim it to get a good reading.
I have a 500ml measuring tube but its a pain as its so deep lol.
local HBS has plastic tubes .. but yuk..
you also are looking through graduations at graduations with them.
a 25mm test tube would be cool, only seem to make them to 200mm though.
