some progress on my parrot I still need to machine out a piece to go on where the product enters the parrot then weld it

Nice bit of staino mate...good to see someone with some machinery and skills.What diam is the guts, looks a bit tight? 3/4 ish? Prob just the pic though..
Given your other builds, this question is probably rather a moot point.

Might need to remake the main body of it, 3/4" sounds like a great idea to most people until they realise that you need a bit more clearance around the alchometer for the spirit to flow.
Otherwise the spirit will lift the alchometer and you wont get a true reading.
1" is a good size.

Altho the body of yours looks like it could be 3/4" NB pipe so you might be ok.
Do you jave any 7/8" ID stainless tube if you dont have 1"?

I was 'ebay' window shopping and saw a parrot attached to a plated still in Yankee land that had a plate under the base for holding jars and thought that was a good idea. I'm going to try and incorporate that into my gear somehow a little better than they did with a proper holding tray. You've got the skills so maybe it might be a good thing for you to try.
I like that no matter what height the parrot is the jar is always just below the spout.

I've been using a copper one bought from mcstill years ago but belongs to my brother in law and wants it back for some reason I've had it for three years was hoping he forgot lol so I'm forced to build one but using what I can get from work which is ss
