Mate, that sample dipper is the dogs bollocks, you don't need no stinkin' wine thief!

I grabbed myself a glass wine thief not too long ago, left it on the dining table and must have bumped it at some stage.; cracked the bastard before I even had a chance to use it...

Cheers,
Prof. Green.

Maaaaate, that would sting!!

Whats the general rule of using Dominoes? Fresh is obviously best, but then what? first use = 1 domino, second time use = 2 dominoes, third time = 3 dominoes for the same effect??

Why not just make something like a wine thief out of copper or stainless, you dont really need to see the liquid in it do you?

1/2" up to 1" reducer 1" length of what ever legth you decide on, with another 1/2" to 1" at the top to put your thumb over.

You will obviously cover the 1/2" end of the reducer at the top of it with your thumb not the 1" .

For all you handy guys that would be easy!

quick search reveals that they are between 500-700mm long, generally all are 1" (25-30mm) in diameter with a concentric point at one end and an end-cap with a breather hole in the other... Very straight forward 3-piece construction... if you can solder.

Others have various options internationally on fleabay... I think I might learn how to solder ...?!?

... some are very 'racy' looking!!

The curved ones i assume are for use in smaller barrels that are laying down and the bung is in the middle.
