yeah right BD, real helpful :handgestures-thumbdown:
$ 182 + gst helpful,for 1200 x 500 mm x 3 mm silicon is as small a piece that they sell with no freebies or samples :crying-yellow:
there's too much left over in that for me just for 1 gasket
I'm going 3mm hobby cork less than $ 20

thanks BD :handgestures-thumbupleft:
I reckon that's mighty generous of you to do that and is greatly appreciated
The bloke I spoke to was Ross and I found him to be not helpful at all :handgestures-thumbdown:
I went to the welding shop I regularly frequent this morning, to line up the plasma cutting of the keg and I picked up a bit of stainless plate from around the back of the guillotine to mount the elements into, ( it took an hour  , I like living in a small town  )
so the boiler project is gelling nicely together   so.... while I'm waiting for stuff to show up , I better get on and do all the little jobs I need to get out of the road, there seems to be a bit of a pile of them accumulating

Cheers

if you are going for permanent, cork.
I use food grade EDPM on my column. no contribution to taste at all. It hasn't degraded in years of use.

Is the edpm available as a sheet ?
BD is sending me some silicon sheet ( I hope :? ) I want to make the seal for the top of the boiler where I'm cutting a 235mm hole for cleaning it out and making a cover plate 295mm held in place with bolts/nuts , this cover plate with have a 4" flange welded to it , for mounting the still, sealed with a 4" edpm gasket

cheers

http://www.uniseal.com.au/

this is the mob i was thinking of.

website is one page of not much, but i just live down the road and when i dropped in last year the office lady was very help full and gave me some samples of teflon / PTFE discs that were off cuts / waste to play with

she said that they cut from CAD drawings

for idea's

http://www.coffeeparts.com.au/faema/fae ... e-parts-23

have a look at the boiler gasket in teflon, sadly they dont have "sizes"
but these type of gaskets are about 3mm thick and hold in 1.8 bar easy of steam pressure

http://www.coffeeparts.com.au/carimali/ ... re-parts-6
the carimali does not have bolt holes but sits on a machined ring inside the bolts for something different

How did you go with this Draino, I may have missed another thread somewhere. Anyway I just wanted to say, without thinking too hard about it, the lids for the T500 boilers have a silicon type seal around the inside of the lid, and the stainless lids are about $40 odd dollars each. Possibly not even close to a solution, but I thought I would mention it.

Thankfully I found the board option to turn off the avatars otherwise could be trouble with work if someone saw it from a distance
