Yeah plastic is not good, I saw a post by a fella who has a distillery in South America, small distilleries distill sugar cane juice in the country at 60%, they then store it on the farm and the bigger ditileries then buy it and take it away to be redistilled. Apparently they had one batch stored in plastic for awhile before it was bought and redistilled. No matter what they did they couldn't get the taste \ shit from the plastic out and they just had to dump a few thousand litres. In a country like that in south America that would be a big write off for them.

Yep and in the US as well.............

One of the big distillers in the US was shipping bulk spirits to the bottler in plastic as well, they have now changed to Stainless steel IBC (intermediate Bulk Containers)

SBB I think you'll find PET refers to the type of plastic, pretty sure most plastic soft drink bottles are made from PET food grade plastic ;)
