Water Pump

Just thought i would share the pump i am using to recycle water (since it rains twice a year in Perth)
Just a 500gph bilge pump- $18
With the cheapest power supply i could find- $3
And the plug for $1
used some hose from the shed and it works a treat.
Not too sure how it will go with the long use, or the pressure, but only one way to find out!

I've been working on electronic stuff for years both for hobby and income, never seen a plug with terminals like that. It's a great idea!!! You picked up a few good bargains there.

Those pumps work awesome off a 12V car battery, especially when your boat leaks like a sieve :laughing-rolling:
They do pump some water for what they are tho :D

It only used to catch sea water :crying-blue:
Been welded up now so I don't even need to use the pump anymore :handgestures-thumbupleft:
But they are great little pumps they move a lot of water for the size of them ;-)

Chucked chlorine in for 1000lt and re run the pump for 10 mins. gee you don't need much of this stuff. After 1/2 day that musty smell is gone but I can't smell chlorine either. not being a pool owner does the absence of chlorine smell mean the dose was too low or does it naturally disappear after a few hours? I think the tank is approx. 1100lt.

Chlorine does evaporate to a certain extent but there will still be some left in your water.
At the end of the day, it's just a coolant I wouldnt be too worried about it coz your not drinking it. ;-)

You need a pretty heavy dose for the smell to be real noticeable.
UV will kill the chlorine pretty quick.
If its a galv tank it should last a fair while. All depends how many bugs there are to kill.

yeah possible the PH was low and they neutralized each other i would say that is kinda the result to look for :handgestures-thumbupleft:
