Vintage Glass Airlock's ???

Hey Guy's,

I'm in the process of setting up what i need and wonderin if anyone an tell me their experiences with the Glass style airlocks

and if they are worth the extra money spent ??? 24 would cost about $140 Airmailed to arrive in 7 days (to steep ?) :think:

Would even grab a bigger order if anyone's interested too..

or if this has been a past topic could someone leave me a link please ? (can't seem to find much when i search it)

You will only want a airlock if your planning on leaving your wash in the fermenter for a few months. Even that is debatable.

Most people use glad wrap etc to seal the top of their fermenters.

If you really want an airlock get a plastic one no need for glass.

Still a New Brewer (bad pun intended) and have gone straight for a Mac Special so wanna have the best around her is all, and i do have a knack of gettin a bit carry'd away with things. so I'll skip em unless i find out something special about em :handgestures-thumbdown: Thanks for the advice

Vintage glass airlocks look great but very fragile - easy to break them even while stored, by saying that I mean 24 would not last long and $140 could be spent on other equipment - I would say go el chipo plastico

Sorry mate I reckon That's a waste of money, put that cash into demijohns or flagons or oak chips not glass airlocks.

Plastic ones are like $1.20 and last a life time.

nuffin the exciting , it got hooked on the sleeve buttons of one of me fav old suit coats and got snapped of level with the fermenter top . Don't panic though 15 bucks worth of arildite later and 3 goes at it and its almost good as a second hand one :handgestures-thumbupleft:
