10L Beverage dispenser from the Reject Shop

Postby gad » Mon Dec 02, 2013 4:08 pm

G'day
Dropped into the reject shop to pick up something on the way home this arvo & came out with one of these.

It's a 10L Beverage dispenser from the Reject Shop - $20

Image

My only concern is what the nut is made from, looks like a hard plastic of some sort.

If it wasn't for the nut it would be a good size for oaking 65% but I won't do that.
Might have to see if I can replace the nut.

Thoughts, thanks.

Looks like you could get an arm in that thing, replace the tap with a good quality stainless tap and some good washers and it will be a top bit of gear.

Can put your arm in there. Put my hand in & unscrewed the tap (all plastic).
The hole would be too small for a ss beer tap, the width of the shaft on the beer taps I have in my fridge are app 25mm. The hols width on this thing is anly app 18mm so it would need to be a small shaft.

A 1/4" BSP fitting has a male thread width of 16mm, maybe it could be that?

How does the lid seal? You will need to make sure it is relatively air tight or the angels will rob you of your hooch.
