Not sure what your plan is for that condenser but Im presuming it for some sort of Refux Still. It looks like you have made it to seal pretty tight into the top of the column if this is the case.
Just checking to make sure you know that the top of the column should always be open to the atmosphere, you don't want pressure build up in the boiler or column.

You might need to drill a few holes in that copper plate...

Howdy,

Just a thought for the next one... normally a cold finger would have twin cold feeds in as the 1/4" tubes, can be joined for ease of connection to a tap fitting but utilise the centre 1/2" section as exhaust... so the 1/2" centre feeds out through the top section as a hot water exhaust. They are dam efficient little condensers when done this way.

its triple wound just hooked it up no leaks!!!!! it is for a 3" *50" VM, with a 2" takeoff to a 2" shotgun product condenser. try to post a pic if its interesting.

due to the fact that it was an existing condenser, and I was kinda retrofitting it the cold finger is more in the middle of the flow not the beginning or end. water flows in through the central coil, then through the cold finger, then through the middle coil, then through the outer coil, then to waste.

top is just resting on 3" pipe , no seal, there is just a rim of loosely fitting 1/4 " ring on top. no possible seal. but seems to be more efficient at containing vapour/ cooling power.
