Temperature guage fittings

What type of fitting do most people use to install a temp guage. I know it depends on what type of guage you have.
I would like to be able to easily replace it if it fails. I would like to install a dial guage straight into a 2" straight SS tubing.

I have a 3 inch dial type that just has a 1/2 inch bsp socket soldered into the copper pipe.

Mac has some pretty nice looking dial type gauges in his shop, along with the appropriate fittings from memory.

Had a look, they are impressive :D

Macstill - do you have the relevant fittings for weld or weldless installation? I have a 2" diameter still but I will install it at an angle on a 90* bend which will allow intallation.
