Ball valve for Parrot

I was in town this afternoon and walked into a yachting supply place looking for a ss ball valve for my parrot. Had a look inside and noticed that it had what appeared to a plastic type substance above and below the ball. Asked the fellow at tHe desk what it was made of and he had no clue. Had a look at the valve and it said it was made in China. Have seen other valves on ebay and assume they are the same. Knowing that plastics and alcohol don't mix I gave it a miss. Have any members noticed whether their ball valves contain this white plastic type substance.

make sure that it is a teflon or epdm seal and you are good to go!!

Pretty common to find nylon in run of the mill ball valves, though not saying that's what you have found.

Most of the good SS ball valves have teflon (PTFE) seals, this is what I'd be asking for :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Guys thanks for the advice. I'll look/ask for Teflon seal.
