Does anyone know anything about RO systems, the seam to range in price from $300 to 1k, I'm looking at adding an under sink system into my brew room.

but with only 45 Psi mains Its incredibly slow :handgestures-thumbdown:
So I hooked it up to a pressure pump an now makes around 200lt in about 12 hours and I would waste about double that but I send that to the garden :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Plenty of good RO units on fleabay mate.
You can get great units for under a grand that other suppliers have quoted $10k for. For most users ~$300 is going to get you a great rig.

Thanks mech, any chance you could post a link of one of the better units, what exactly makes them better, anything to do with speed

Depends on your starting water quality.
If you are feeding potable water from a city water supply you aren't going to need a massive sediment filter for instance, just a 5um prefilter would be ample. Then a carbon filter.

Yeah saw that one, is the pump worth having?

The pump is cheap to buy on it's own. You get a few extra filters in the 7 membrane version so pressure drop is going to be much higher, necessitating the need for the pump.
At least that's what I'm thinking.

:text-+1: Boss-020,cannot fault them ,I run the waste water into a rainwater tank to use for cooling and on the garden,that was the only problem I had with RO units .cheers hillzabilly :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Picked up this from gumtree, $280 new in box. Should serve me well.

I got mine from Veba's aquariums in Fremantle ,to make sure I could get replacement filter's and membrain's easily ,you may need some extra line and fitting's,I got a tee fitting and a tap end fitting ,so I could have an extra line out to a large storage tank (60lt fermenter).and some extra line for ya waste water.cheers hillzabilly
