I use mason jars for heads and tails cuts, but in the bulk of the hearts, I use these beauties. I get them from a canadian retailer here . I picked up 3 on sale for 5$ each!!! When I am not collecting bulk hearts in then, I use them for overflow catchers for my mason jars.

Nowhere as cool as yours swede, but I'm mainly using recycled 750ml wine bottles with the metal screw top lids... :)

Yeah I'm a guilty party for collecting in big vessels aswell, in this case it's 1125ml rum bottles. I generally stop when the neck starts to thin ( about 900ml.. ish ) so as to leave plenty of room to breath. Couple of days with a gentle breeze flowing over the tops of the bottles is great. If I keep a good eye on things there is very little smearing of cuts with this still. I also sit my collection bottles in a 2L pyrex bowl for those very rare occasions that I miss a change out.

i collect in 2 SS coffee "milk frothing" jugs and then pour it to +-350ml stubbies
an old SS stock pot is my overflow vessel (the jugs sit in it)
i dont have a parrot so i just do a quick alc test each jug

1st couple are 200ml
then step up to +-300ml for the rest of the run

I do now. I used to be lucky enough in Darwin to have a semi-open garage that offered a nice cross breeze but now I just let a slow oscilating fan do the trick for me.

Heffers, collecting with your jar/jug in a catch basin sure does save your arse :mrgreen: I know it's saved mine a few times.

I used to use an old pie plate, but when I seen these pails, they were too damn cool to pass up. It does give a bigger buffer when I'm using it as a catch basin as well.

I use a heap of fowlers vacola jars, # 20 jar = 600ml ea & # 27 jar = 800 ml ea ;)
no catch buckets though , just a vigilant eye
I saw some of them little ss buckets the other day at Dan Murphy's @ $ 9.00 ea. they can stay there :o

I've got a big ol pyrex pie dish that my collection containers sit in. Like others, has saved a litre of spirits running down the back of the wall plenty of times.

I have been saving all my V8 Juice glass jars, they are 1.5L and easy to pour from, have used other glass jars in the past but some are fuckin hard to pour from without losing some of that sweet nectar :D

I put a frozen 2l drink bottle next to collection jar to cool down.

Me too. Just the thing, neck is narrower than the body of the jar so no splashing. 1.5 litres means not swapping out jugs every 5 minutes. Cheap & easy to come by. Clear see through glass. Great to pour from. What else do you need?
Been using them now for the past 3 years and have no intention to change.
