Knocked this up this afternoon - relatively easy :handgestures-thumbupleft:

My first attempt at soldering copper, I have previously done a fair bit of electronics soldering however.

1" body
1/2" intake / output tubing
1x 1" cap for bottom
1x 1" - 2" reducer
1x 1" - 1/2" reducer

Still need to sort out a base, waiting to pickup some 2" from a friend so will probably flatten some out and make a base.

Great work for your first attempt at copper soldering mate. :handgestures-thumbupleft:

But there is an issue with the design in where your out put tube comes out of the reducer, ideally you need to have the output tube as low as possible in the reducer to stop pooling in the bottom part of the reducer which will cause smearing of your product.

That's a nice looking parrot mate, well done. For someone who has never soldered that is a bloody fantastic effort :handgestures-thumbupleft:

You could try a bit of polished red wood or something for the base? That would look alright i recon.

:text-+1: i thought of screwing mine on to some nice timber :handgestures-thumbupleft: . you could drill a 1" hole and stick it in

Thanks guys I was quite surprised at how easy the soft soldering was.

I will knock up a Mk.II next week and move the output tube lower.

Here's mine... Used a piece of Jarrah, just drilled a 1" hole in it and the parrot just fits in snugly.

Needs a bath, I haven't used it for so long :crying-blue:
