TP doesn't impact on a Molasis wash but probably would with a all sugar one. Go the food grade dap and calcium carbonate from your LHBS :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Stripping first lot now initial thoughts is it tastes like turbo wash :handgestures-thumbdown: has very faint rum notes but not great. I have 5l mcrum feints i will chuck in with spirit run. Next attempt will be real golden syrup..

I have done a few washes of this following the MacRum recipe, substituting molasses for golden syrup, turns out fine for a lighter style Rum. :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Didnt think the homemade golden syrup rum would be any good but after weekish on oak when mixed with coke I am suprised, just how rummy it is.
Even has the same mank of other early rums. It is very similar to fancy molasses early on. Only thing i suggest is if you follow the google recipe for homemade golden syrup where you darken a small portion of the sugar then add the rest and invert it brown the sugar as dark as possible without it going black/burning. To get max flavour. This is going to take some experimenting with a timer to get it right and repeatable.

Double uj i think i was wrong in the "todays run is" thread i think this may be worth playing with to get a repeatable recipe :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Having a few more of the homemade golden syrup rum it really is not a bad drop will try again without any feints i did 9l low wines and 2l mcrum feints, its has some really nice flavours but should have not used feints next lot will be free of feints to see what its like. Its a lot like fancy molasses rum...
