It has a good rap for vodka but i haven't done a pot strip then reflux yet but will soon as i have 2 waiting for when i finish my shotgun mod. I too am drinking TPW as vodka ATM with a double reflux but want to move to WBABW more if it works out well. Last time i tried the TPW tainted my packing before i ran my WBABW and ruined my WBABW

it's pretty damn clean tasting running it that way. but yeah as i said misses aint sold on it as a straight out neutral. WBABW can I be really lazy and just crush up some weetbix in hot water along with the sugar then top it up with cool water like i would with a TPW? the whole boiling on the stove etc is just killing the idea for me

It depends on your time frame.

I find that 30 to 40 mins boiling (or at least simmering) make a huge difference in the ferment time 4 days vs a week or more with a much more vigorous ferment

Isnt it already cooked though? it goes mushy when in water so i figure if i break it up enough blending then this would be good

Try it and see for yourself if it makes a difference - it does for me!

Thats what i did this time, 6L to melt sugar and soak the weetbix for a while. just not sure if i should add citric acid though as ive read that backseat can be acidic?

The backset will be plenty acidic I wouldn't worry about the citric.

Just be careful with backset if you use too much it can cause stuck ferments when the PH gets too low :-B

Calcium carbonate is one of the better ones, bicarb works but can give funky flavours there is a whole thread on it somewhere....

So I've put one down, but didn't have all bran, but had some milo cereal spare, used think 3 1/2 cups of it, and only had 2 1/2kg white sugar, and 2 1/2kg raw sugar so did half n half on the sugar, and added for good measure 2 cups of milo from the tin.

and pitched the yeast with 100g bloodwood honey (real nice honey from a local bee farmer, also candies real nice after being left in the fridge for a bit)

will let know how it goes, especially as it will be going through an airstill :/

Hows the room smell :-D
Try puting a hose on the end of your airlock and out the window or something. Its how i ferment inside with no smell :handgestures-thumbupleft:

It's normally pretty stinky with the TPWs. Not sure what it will be like with this one.
Need to go get another airlock for the third fermenter. If the smell is too bad I will look at the hose option but I don't use the room for anything else and keep the door shut :)
The bottles/jars are low wines of TPW ready for a spirit run on Sunday :handgestures-thumbupleft:
