Hi guy's.
Anyone got a clone of pimms their willing to share? It says it's a gin base. Any ideas what sort of herbs might be in it? I've just peeled a heap of oranges and am going to try the same process as lemoncello. I'm thinking I might be able to throw some herbs in at the same time but no idea where to start.
Any help much appreciated :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Did you end up giving Pimm's a try?

Nah I couldn't be bothered buying all those other drinks just to make a drink I could just buy :laughing-rolling:
I've got some orange peels sitting in neutral, I'll see how that goes. I might experiment with a few spices in small batches.
Can any of you gin blokes with a good palate discern what spices might be in pimms?

eh Woodduck for a laugh I went and bought a 5 litre goon cask of cheap red wine and mulled it with some mulling herbs and also cut up 2 fresh navel oranges. When I mulled it I kept it below 70C so the alc didn't steam away and kept it mulling for a about 2 hours. Then thru my minime pot still did 5 strip runs to get low wines then on the spirit run put some fresh navel orange strips in some 40% in the thumper the night before.
This was my first foray into making a true brandy and after being on French Oak for a few months I do think it is a top drop and when I do sample I don't bother watering it down and after say a 10ml shot the flavours just keep coming 5 minutes after the shot.
I wouldn't know what Pimms tastes like as I won't buy any spirits and what I have have tasted in the past with commercial stuff the heads and tails come thru and I generally spit it saying what is this crap.
Cheers Bryan

Cinnamon, cassia bark all spice and black pepper corns are the base for a mulling mix, now doing a small run using these with some fresh fennel and licorice root sure make for a nice aussie made pastis and everyone that has tasted it wanted to take home a sample.
