Future oak use suggestion

One tip off from working on this Irish whiskey is I'd strongly recommend if you have some very very lightly toasted oak or plain for that matter is to throw a pile into sherry in a spare jar and just let it sit, changing sherry after about the first 6 weeks or so. Years wouldn't hurt either.
It will make a bloody lovely soft timber for a whiskey down the track. You just never know when you might be tempted to make a lighter style...get a head start!
It just will give you more choices and varying flavours in the future.
