I agree. I use gelatin as well. When I use it the wash clears nearly clear. You can see though it.

I figure if your going for a neutral you probaly want least amount of yeast in your boiler. I know this recipe has been around since the dinosaurs but hey it's 2 tsp of gelatin.

I agree that it is best to have it as clear as possible for nuetrel but I still don't see puking as an issue. I have never had it with these washes doing hard stripping runs.

Has anyone here actually had one of these puke on them?

for speed, many 10s of thousands of ppl have try 1000s of different ways to do this over hundreds of yrs some work better than others , this one method has the consensus of being one of the best . You can use much less yeast but you might want to up the neuts a fair bit (maybe with DAP or brewers yeast) or it will take fucking ages cause that is likely to give you off flavours, to me it seems like a lot of fuck arsing about and expense to save 40 odd cents of yeast

did a spirit run on 3 strip washes using my t500. Normally I would taste all the jars and chuck the ones i liked into one big lot. I ended up saving 4 Jars that seemed to have no flavour what so ever. Kept for a special purpose, not sure what yet. The rest that i liked was all put together to be mixed with some essences.

Overall very happy with the results.

I have read that you can also use an egg white mixed with a bit of water, then slowly poured over the wash also works to clear it.

I am seeking some help so I can finally get my first TPW going. I have 2x 30 litre fermenters, however both are currently in use with a VodkaStar wash and a Turbo wash to use the last of my Turbo yeast. I have a brand new 20 litre plastic bucket that is food safe, and I would very much like to use this for a TPW wash. I realise the output will be quite low using a smaller fermenter, but I am really eager to get this started. Maybe when the Turbo wash finishes, I could do the small wash and also use one of the 30 litre fermenters to run just TPW.

Can you good people please advise what amount of ingredients I should use for a smaller wash, I am thinking 15 litres of wash would be maximum for a 20 litre bucket. I have heaps of white sugar, and I also have;

75 grams Citric Acid
375 grams Epsom Salts
200 grams Lowans Bakers Yeast
400 grams Leggos Tomato Paste (8x 50 gram sachets)

For a 15 liter wash i would do 1 tub of tomato paste 1/4 tea spoon epsom 1/4 tea spoon citric acid and 3 kg sugar that will get you going
Oh and 25 gm yeast
