Having trouble with gen 2. Looks like it's stalled or like you said Sam,
Something has inhibited the yeast.
Gen 1 was as per kimbos recipe with 2 big bags of nutrigrain. Ran out to .990 as expected.
Gen 2 I stuffed up and added 4L or so of Dunder that was too hot. Left it for a day and yes, no action, have killed the yeast. So I rehydrated 80g of yeast, now I have no idea if I did that right 8-} , all I did was add 80g of yeast to a litre or so of warm, 30 degree, water. It went to a horrible sticky paste at first but with storing etc all "dissolved" nicely.
So I added this to the wash
Bubbled away nicely for a few days then slowed and stopped/ cleared.
I thought it was done so went to strip it but when syphoning I got half a mouthful and it was sweet, :angry-banghead: checked the SG and it was only 1020-1030 or so. :angry-banghead:
So, without a ph tester, should I be:
A) adding something to bring up the ph
B) adding more yeast
C) have another scotch
D) c and a or b combined?
