Canadian Club

Lets talk about CC ... ive done a bit of reading but because its not as popular as Jim Beam etc , the grain bill is hard to find ,,, add the fact that because its a blended mix theres a good chance (well after my reading) that its blended with neutral but with a grain bill of at least 51% corn, maybe 10% rye, wheat and at least 10% barley.

my guess would be :

60% Corn
10% Rye
16% Wheat
14% Barley

Like i said , its just a guess and wouldnt mind getting some thoughts on it

Thank you for asking linny, a cc's clone is a obsession of mine,
Rye obviously features and corn for starters
Grain spirits in cc's are barrel aged afaik separately then blended with grain neutral to get the taste.
I am working on it.....
My approach has been a rye ujsm oaked til it turns, that's the easy bit. It's getting the other grains in the blend to be in balance that's hard.
Using the dominoes from the kiwi group buy has been a huge improvement on the hbs barrel chips I was using before.
Sorry I cant be more help.

Mass producing, and oaking individually in demijohns. then blending last of all as I have read that's how beam Inc do cc.'s.
