Hi everyone,

I am keen to hear some recipe ideas or suggestions for making Caramel Vodka. I am thinking a sugar and water salted caramel, infused in neutral, then see what happens.

What does everyone think?

2/3 cup, firmly packed brown sugar
300ml container thickened light cream

I've posted this before: very easy - It's caramello chocolate melted in a double boiler and tipped into neutral and shaken.

It's exceptional. Fattening as hell but very easy and very quick.

Yeah I am thinking a sugar caramel is most likely the best option for what I am trying to achieve :-) as other options I have tried haven't turned out to be what I am aiming for :-(

Hi,
I know this is an old thread but I have just discovered coffee syrups work just fine as a flavouring for spirits.
I use 5ml caramel syrup in a 700ml bottle of heads/hearts mixture, but im sure it will work perfectly in a neutral too.
Also I have used Vanilla coffee syrup to sweeten up a bourbon essence I bought online but didnt really like, 5ml essence 5ml vanilla in 700ml.
I have also tried a Cinnamon syrup.

Taste is very subjective so you may like to use more or less than me, but this will make a great caramel vodka.

Cheers :obscene-drinkingdrunk:

You really shouldn't be drinking heads :handgestures-thumbdown:

I was reluctant to reply to your objections as this is a flovouring/ essences thread & not a cuts thread which probably should be elsewhere on this site

Regardless, I used all info from this site to create neutral spirit that was so easy to drink I missed the bite of the Bourbon I was used to drinking. so I experimented & came up with a cut that satisfied my needs.

Sorry I dont like Vodka :puke-huge:

You shouldnt make crap because your used to crap.. maybe crap is a bit harsh. Imo the smoother less bitey spirit is the better your cuts are. I can drink my own at 40% and there is very little bite, even at 65% its very little bite compared to some of the 40% spirit on the market. Thats the the beuty of this hobby, be driven by quality, not $ like commercial distilleries .

Neither do I mate, brown spirits with the odd liqueur thrown in. We make cuts for a reason, if you choose to add heads, its your choice, at the end of the day you are the one dinking it. I personally wont condone it, no offence intended, just stating my opinion. :handgestures-thumbupleft:

All good mate :handgestures-thumbupleft:

I have always maintained that taste is subjective.

I have blended heads cuts into a number of my quaffs, and they work.

At the end of the day, if your happy, mission accomplished :handgestures-thumbupleft:
