Had the same issue with long ferment and low yield on Gen 2, smelt good however!

Didn't measure pH, as when I ran this, or a UJSSM, I had a stall re pH, so now I just throw in a couple of spoonfuls. G2 is still fermenting away nicely though...

G3 fermented while I was away on business, now run, and G4 fermenting!!!! All hail the Chicken Grit!!! :))

Just stuck a run of this in the new fermenter.
120g of cornflakes (roughly 1L).
4kg of sugar.
85g of bakers yeast.
3/4 teaspoon of citric acid.
Topped up to 25L with water.

First time running the Bucket Buddy 35L.

Hope it works out.

If all your running is the T500 , your wasting your time

Whilst initially I thought what’s with this guy, knocking T500 on all my posts..
I’ve run so many successful washes through it and been quite happy I must say the last couple of runs have been low volume yield. Where before I’d get a total of 3.5L it bows starts stalling at 2L.
Must be a leak up the top of the reflux column, no Vapor condensing on the outside but clearly something going wrong.
I’ll investigate the cause but probably move it on and speed up my own build to overcome the shortcomings of the T500.

On topic however, what did come out of the condenser, albeit a lower ABV, tastes absolutely lovely. Will be doing another run soon.

A T500 is a reflux column , designed to strip and flavor out of the distillate .
Making a flavored wash is a waste unless run through a pot or plated column .
The T500 is good at what it does but can’t do anything else and is slow when compared to other stills and they are built to a cost rather than a standard of quality .
I’ve still got my 2009 T500 :laughing-rolling:

The post was not having a go at the T500 mick, it more about reflux stills, no matter the brand, ripping flavour out of washes so flavoured washes are a bit of a waste when running through a reflux as all you will get is neutral, or very lightly flavoured at best.
you will understand more once you get a pot still.
We are all limited by the still type we run, that is why many on here have multiple stills , or component stills that can be changed to different types as needed.
The T500 is a great still once you understand its limitations.
Looks like you are ready to take the next step.
wooohooooo down the rabbit hole dives another one lol
