I have to wait for the winter crop if spinach to grow before I can further the Popeye experiment.

I dont want to buy it as that is not the point.

I got the seal of approval and big tick from SOH last night.
I used this bran based vodka as the starting point for her gin.
She loved the flavour much better that the TPW based with the same ingredients.

Is it imperative to leave for those few days after racking if i plan to strip first?

Not imperative but I like to strip a reasonably clear wash 24 hours should do it

Just for info, quite a number of users over here have done this and it has now been promoted to Tried and True on our NZ Distillers site

This looks like it has merit.

I've been chasing an alternate for a gin base for some time.

I'm just so bloody lazy that i've stuck with the TPW.

Thanks for sharing Teddy

Thanks Woodsy.
Yes it is a little more work to the beginning but gives a great result in a lot less time.
I'd be happy to hear your results

I am watching my first 46l wash of teddies fast fermenting vodka right now and I am well impressed with how aggressive the ferment is its been going 27hrs so far and its fizzing like a turbo wash but without the awful turbo stink.

Good stuff I hope (am confident) you will be impressed with the end result too.

Yes I am a bit worried as I only have the 4 plate bubbler to run this in. I plan on running it and putting some of the first run on oak then diluting the remainder to 40% and running it again
4 plates + boiler =5 plates,
5 plates x 2 runs = 10plates,
10 plates hopefully = vodka.
