Buying a voltage controller for my t500 boiler

Postby Wino » Fri Nov 21, 2014 9:38 am

hi guys, thanks again for all the advice I've been given and read. It really has enlightened me in the world of distilling.
I have quickly got sick of making neutral and adding cordials. I recently picked up a pure distilling pot still head dirt cheap ,that fits on my t500 boiler. My problem is while ok for stripping, I would like to control the voltage to slow the flow. Does any one know of any controller, that you could plug straight into the power cord of the t500 boiler. I can't find any thing off the shelf. Thanks for you time 8-)

You could build one

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/4000W-High-P ... 2a320b37a7
( this unit will control a 2400 or 3600w element for future expansion however 2000w version approx.$5)

This unit easy to wire ,just add a box, power cord in, and power socket out

optional volt meter
http://www.ebay.com.au/sch/i.html?_odkw ... c&_sacat=0

or digital volts / amp meter
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/AC-LCD-Digit ... 51bc7ae424

there are many was to build a controller, eg phase angle controllers, PWM etc I thought that this was one of the easiest

This one is not for off the shelf and needs some wiring and SSR but looks impressive.

Thanks meath, I have ordered
The bits off eBay you suggested. I'll get a local electrician to put it together, as I'm hopeless with electricity. Cheers
