Spirit with a yellow tinge

Postby gavogr » Wed Aug 29, 2012 12:06 am

Hello All,
Some one from work asked me today if I have ever had a yellow tinge from a spirit run. I haven’t but was wondering if ay one ever has here before.
He tells me he used the traditional Turbo yeast sugar method which he has done before. The temperature remained steady at around 80- 85 but this time when he was checking the alcohol level in his plastic hydrometer tube it started to change the shape of the tube it was that hot.
This is only about the 3 run he has done through the reflux he purchased from eBay.
I have no idea as I have never seen this myself.
Any info would be greatly appreciated
Thanks in advance.
Gavin

PS Hope this is in the correct spot.
