Has anybody seen or purchased the new T500 Alembic Pot Still? Was wondering what people's thoughts are on this product.

I think you could knock up a copper pot head that will work better and be cheaper than this thing. Just my thoughts though. The dome lid in copper looks cool.

Pretty soon I'll have adapters to allow tri clamp fitting to a brew shop boiler, and a couple of cheaper versions of pot stills :handgestures-thumbupleft:

You're definitely starting to take over the distilling world with your gear Mac. Making fittings and adapters to make your gear match the other commercial stuff and now moving into commercial stores.

Won't be long before FSD is renown wherever distillers unite!

Good work.

Cost less the £100 to make and works a treat.

So has anyone actually made a dome attachment rather than purchasing the Still Spirits one?

I have been using mine for a number of months and have successfully been using it for stripping though not for a spirit run yet. I feel the stripping run is somewhat too slow and it's too fast for a spirit. Some form of boiler control is required to slow it down before I try and make my grain based whisky.

I have read heaps of posts were the professor or pros say the alembic copper dome is overrated and overpriced!
Personally I don't know just read and take in what the experts say.....

Research voltage controller most of the guys on here use them and they work well. Pretty essential bit of kit really.

I'm no expert by any stretch but my opinion has been formed by my own experiences with the T500 alembic pot.
There's nothing wrong with the dome other than being very expensive.

Cheers,
Prof. Green.

I like the T500 copper dome though I think the condenser is lacking so I am interested in what the new offerings from Macstill are when available.
