Fores/Heads munching toe warmer

Postby bt1 » Sun Jul 27, 2014 8:21 am

Howdy,

Bought a ethanol fireplace that arrived this week. It does a 5m x 10m room to toasty and used about 1.5lt per 4 hours of stored heads and fores. looks ok too.

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Brand-New-Indoor-Outdoor-Designer-Bio-Ethanol-Fireplace-Home-Decoration-Heater-/300996098568?pt=AU_Heaters&hash=item4614c3fa08

So start storing those fores and early heads!

Nice one bt1.guess it will work on metho too.
Probablycheaper to run than an electric heaer.

Does it have ventilation issues like indoor gas heaters.

Looks the goods bt,

Another clever way to make use of by-products.

At what abv do you use to fuel it?

Also how do you reckon it would go outside under cover?

I use one of these, the burner opening is about 130 mm. I get some heat off it but not enough to heat a room. Its awesome watching the flame though.

I don't have the artic breezes flowing through and keep the lounge closed off a bit but it will do a room no probs.

Outdoor = can't see it working that well if it's breezy. They have no radiant heat.

Ha ha mate, I'll have to leave that up to bt1.
I'm a bit embarrassed to say but i have ran out of foreshots, just haven't found the time lately to do a run :crying-blue: I've had 60L TPW clearing for about 2 months now, but the missus thinks hanging a door on the bathroom before her parents come to visit is a priority :teasing-blah: :teasing-blah: .

Probably asbestos :laughing-rolling:

Wonder if you dilute it a bit it would give a bit more yellow in the flame?

Mine does not have that wool stuff. Odd must check with vendor.

They start off blue flame like metho then as it warms turn yellow.

I put it down to bloody rum fores and heads cos there's no way a Irish or Rye lot could not be pure :D

Guys I only found out about these heaters the other week while watching the Box and a good point came up NEVER try and refill the heater when it's hot as it will become a bomb and spray the contents in flames causing major trauma and even burning down the roof over ya head.
