sealing skin fitting?

Finally got around to putting in a skin fitting for a drain.
I put a Teflon seal around it but I'm having trouble sealing it up still.I did butcher the hole a bit though :angry-banghead:
Has anyone used a sealant/glue as well as a Teflon washer?

I'll take a pic tonight. I think half the problem is I'm having trouble getting it done up really tight, I need to wedge something against the lugs on the inside of it to stop it turning.
It's tempting to try soldering it in

Not sure if im picturing it right in my head but would a custom seal cut from silicone baking sheet with a stainless washer work?

Yeah maybe, the seal im using is pretty hard, silicone tray gasket (STG) would prob be worth trying

Thanks guys, those seals look good. Reckon I'll go to Coles tomorrow and cut a custom one out of a baking tray, hopefully I can get a run in after lunch! :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Silicone baking sheet is pretty good, but it's a kind of use at your own risk kind of thing unless you know it's exact composition.

I'd look at some aquarium type silicone myself, fish are very sensitive to nasties but it still doesn't prove it's safe, but as a sealant it's gotta be about as safe as one can get :handgestures-thumbupleft:

seen somewhere a method where you put a piece of paper on some glass or other flat surface ,squeeze out the aquarium silicon , place another piece of paper on top and then sandwich some more flat glass or similar flat material to a suitable distance .

when it dries ...day or two...soak in water and paper falls away leaving a silicon sheet :handgestures-thumbupleft:

No leaks now so I'm happy now :D
